The Technology

Co-creating tools for a global, open financial network

Software is not a 🪄magic wand that can solve global financial health problems. We are technology pragmatists, not maximalists. Tech is a tool and we ensure everyone has access to the toolbox.

Building with—not for—people

People who know their local terrain help draw our roadmap. We work alongside people who are already solving financial health problems in their local communities. We listen to deeply understand the problems they are addressing, their needs, and their ideas for how technology could help them. We collaborate with them to define what success would look like and develop an action plan with incremental checkpoints. A problem is solved when they tell us it is.

The best fintech stack is also the most free and most open option

New tools should earn their place by proving their usefulness. We incubate, support, and welcome competing implementations of ideas because the fight for an equitable and open global payment network has not yet been won. In this regard, we aspire to be like the Cloud Native Computing Foundation.
